Why are the file names garbled?
Older Windows tools store file names in a local code page without saying so. Names the archive marks as UTF-8 are read as UTF-8; on this page the rest are read as Western DOS (CP437). If they look wrong, pick another encoding under “File name encoding” (Japanese: Shift_JIS, Simplified Chinese: GBK/GB18030, Traditional Chinese: Big5, Korean: EUC-KR, Cyrillic: CP866 or Windows-1251, Turkish: Windows-1254, Thai: Windows-874, Vietnamese: Windows-1258).
Can I extract the whole archive into a folder?
Browsers do not let web pages write folders to your computer. Download files one by one, or select the ones you need and download them as a new ZIP. The new ZIP leaves out unselected system files (__MACOSX, .DS_Store and similar) and uses UTF-8 names.
What does “path fixed” mean?
Some archives contain paths with “../” or starting with a drive letter or slash, which could place files outside the target folder when extracted (known as Zip Slip). The tool removes those parts, turns them into plain relative paths and marks them in the list.
Why are some files blocked?
Files larger than 1 MB uncompressed with a compression ratio above 1000:1, and archives where several entries share the same data, may be zip bombs and are blocked. Limits: 1 GB per extracted file, 1 GB in total for selected files downloaded as a ZIP, and 2 GB for the archive itself.
Which archives are supported?
Deflate and stored entries, including ZIP64. Password-protected entries, split archives, RAR and 7z are not supported; encrypted entries are marked in the list.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Reading and extracting happen in your browser and your files never leave your device.
